My View on HCR in America

I got a comment from someone asking what “my Views on Healthcare Reform are”. I do write a lot about the subject, however havent really disclosed my true feelings towards it yet. So here goes.

I have traveled much of the world, and noticed that in most nations there is some sort of Health Coverage for their citizens. It has always troubled me, that here in the United States of America we didnt. Poor families in America who are on state assistance get health care, which I think is fair and just. But the people in the lower to middle class struggle. Either they are not offered Health insurance by their employer, or its just too expensive to go out and get coverage on their own. Complicating matters are insurance plans to “supplement health insurance” that often do not cover enough anyway. Healthcare Reform is needed in our country. I believe strongly in the Healthcare bill that has passed. I am in favor of it 100% for the following reasons. If everyone is covered by some sort of health insurance it actually takes some stress off our budget. The people on Welfare consume a lot of money, with health care, food stamps etc. By encouraging employers to offer affordable health insurance it will give the people on Welfare something to work for, like say “a job”. I do not mean that harshly but lets look at the facts, if it is easier for someone to live off the system, and have basic things like health insurance, and a stable food source why work at all? I also believe that reforming our health care system, so that doctors are not charging huge amounts, or sending you off to their friends in other specialties for profit is important. Streamlining the process, and making it work for “all americans” will cost less in the end. So yes in essence I completely agree with the President’s view and policy on this issue. Do I think this Healthcare bill is perfect? absolutely not. But through time, and amendments it can be a wonderful asset to our nation. I am angry at Republicans on so many levels, just read my blog and you will learn some of them. I am angry that republicans live by the “rich get richer, and the poor get poorer in this nation”. Which is why they didnt want this bill. Healthcare Reform will cost anyone who makes $200k or more a bit more in taxes. Have we forgotten how many breaks the upper class in this country were given under President Bush? Even as our low to middle class citizens fail financially the upper class flourish and become even more wealthy and powerful. This Healthcare bill will not hurt their wallet that badly, and we are all putting forth effort for one another in these “pools” so that no person is left behind. I believe strongly that in the “United States of America” Healthcare is a Right, and a privilege to have. Why should we NOT have health insurance? that is the better question.

The Conservatives are shouting “socialism” and rallying people to extreme levels. Hatred towards others, calling for a “civil war”. Which is something Democrats have never done, nor will do. I am more a democrat, but like to stay in the middle as a independent. So I am center left I guess. I do not like extremism so religion of any manner does not suit me. I believe strongly that there has to be “A separation of Religion and State”, and that people are held accountable to God by their own actions and decisions. It is not up to our Government to pass laws that protect us from our God, laws are to protect us from ourselves, to ensure we comply with a standard of life. Afterall if we had no law, or speed limit imagine how many people would speed excessively and crash causing damage to property and people. Rules and Laws to guide our nation benefit everyone in our nation, and make it a safe nation to live in. I believe people should study History, so we do not repeat mistakes. So if you continue on and read some more about my view you can learn more about me. Thankyou for reading my blog, and please remember to consider all people when voting, because our vote affects all of us.
