The threats begin

This article highlights a new threat to Democratic politicians http://www.rolandsmartin.com/blog/?SEceLvBQ interesting that the Republicans drive for rewriting history, and resurrecting racism, and the Democrats pass health care which they offered to include, and did include over 200 provisions that the republicans wanted, only to have death threats thrown on them. Now who is the extremist’s in this nation? Socialism is their new battle cry, to enrage the nation, as is “they think this HCR is unconstitutional”. Why? requiring people who work, to have affordable health coverage, that by the way they already want, is now a crime? So it must be unconstitutional to require people to be 16 years of age, to get a driver’s license, and oh making them get one is unconstitutional also? Requiring Car insurance must surely be a crime as well. Silly people yelling “socialism” in our “Capitalism” country then why havent they screamed to stop taxes, and federal housing, and school assistance, it must be “socialist” to have our government involved in so much lol.

If I had my way, serving in the armed forces would be mandatory for all citizens, at age 18. If the young person drops out of school at 17, then off to the service they go. They would serve a minimum of 2 years, and be a reservist for another 2 years. But I suppose that is a “socialist” thing to do? Imagine how much respect, and honor our young adults would learn, and how that would be better for our nation all the way around. Just because some idea’s are similar to socialist nations doesn’t make us a socialist nation, it makes us a smart nation, and a free nation as well, or do you like the idea of our freedom only going to benefit our criminals?

  1. Oh..my. I’ve seen tactics from the minority party over the past few months which have actually ‘embarrassed’ me as an American citizen….not to mention as a Christian. They are fighting for their political ‘lives’ which they see fading fast. the desparate scream the loudest. And you are correct, if it is ‘unconstitutional’ to require persons to purchase health insureance…then it surely is ‘unconstitutional’ to require liability insurance for licensed drivers. The things that amazes me, is how many well-meaning and intelligent people BELIEVE EVERYTHING THEY HEAR FROM POLITICIANS. What ever happened to being informed. Whatever happened to ‘the other side of the story.’ Whatever happened to considering both sides of an issue. Whatever happened to plain ole ‘respect’ being demonstrated by those leaders of our country whom we point to as models of leadership. I support the Democrat party because of many beneficial things it offers our nation. I am a serious Christian. The Bible condems homosexuality. But all judgement is left to God. And that is how it should be. I don’t approve of taking the life of a child by way of abortion. But, again, that is between the mother and God. But what ‘hurts’ and ‘disappoints’ me deeply, is that one political party would deliberately label another as evil and vile…as an organized tactic to promote their own party. How sick is that?? And if we could see what God sees, we would know there are an equal amount of Republicans and Democrats who get abortions…and who are gay. But I am proud to be Democrat. I’m proud that America considers the needs of those who cannot help themselves. I support Social Security. It is humane. I support Medicare and Medicaid. They are humane. I support Food Stamps and Welfare. They, too, are humane. I don’t begrudge any taxes taken from my paycheck and used for such good purposes. Sometimes I think the world has ‘spun’ so long that we humans are suffering from ‘dizzy brain’ disease. And I can’t believe I just said all that. I usually keep my political opinions to myself.

    Again, good post. Thanks.

  2. Thankyou elias, your comment is much appreciated. I know there are many like you, and I hope that the other christians that read my blog do not misunderstand my views, especially since I have been very tough on “Christianity” lately. You and those like you are a valuable asset to our nation.
