Welcome to the “The Civil Monitor”
The Civil Monitor exists so that people can come together and discuss Civil Issue’s. I only encourage people to post “solutions” or “suggestions” to help end violations of civil rights. I would like this Blog to concentrate on “Monitoring and Discussing” Civil issue’s that impact our Nation. Emphasis on “Keeping Religious organizations responsible”. Lets all try and hold churches and the religious communities accountable if they choose to: Spread Hate, or limit Civil rights in general. I highly encourage posts on the subject of Politics, and a Seperation of Church and State.

good start, my friend. I will check on your progress periodically. Let’s hope we don’t have too much to bitch about for the next few years. Stay in touch… JC
You know these religious organizations are paranoid and have no business dictating “civil” marriages.
Civil marriages are marriages granted by the state, by the government, not a church. One can marry in city hall, it doesn’t have to be a church, and the churches have no “jurisdiction” or power over the State.
If this happens to occur which Prop 8 signifies then we are going back to the dark ages, where they burn people at the stake for being different.
I am so believing that the Church of Christ, and the Mormon Church in Utah gathered votes at the last minute, because the poll taken 1 week before the election indicated the no votes were about 9 percent higher, than the yes vote.
This was a hijacked revision to the Supreme Court of California’s ruling, not an amendment. Legally it does not fly, and is not valid. The proposition would have to have been passed in both houses of government “before” it was put to the voters and that was not done.
It is invalid to deny people’s rights that were previously granted, by the constitution.
This was a disgusting attempt at gay hatred.
